Pride, Respect, and Dignity Go Before a Fall.........But Only If You Are Tripped

I was intrigued with a conversation that was being had in one of the leather chat rooms that I frequent. It was about the issue of pride, dignity, and respect in the Master/slave relationship. Everyone agreed that a Master needs to have all three. Pride in the fact that they have a man that is willing to serve them and that they can take care of a slave to the point of wanting to serve him. Dignity in the way that he treats his slave and the way the slave treats him. The Dignity that comes with the fact that another man wants them enough to serve them as their slave. And Respect of other Masters for this ability as well as the respect that a slave gives to a Master. But what was terribly at issue was whether or not the slave deserved or should have the same three. Which begs the question: Can you have a healthy Master/slave relationship if it is not a two way street? Pride can be something of a devil at issue. Some say that a slave should not have pride. I disagree with that. I think a slave should have pride in who he is as a slave and be proud to have a Master to serve. There is a fine line between pride and arrogance. It is when either the Master or the slave crosses that line when things can go awry and not be healthy. There is also dignity in serving another human being which is the reason for the pride. Being a slave is not something to be ashamed of or think that it makes you a lesser man. In fact it make you more of a man to have the courage to do so and serve another man. The dignity that another man wants you to be their slave is an honor in and of itself. The last one seems to be the tricky one for some. Many say that a slave does not deserve any respect. It is a shame that they feel that way. A slave should be respected because they could very well not choose to be a slave. It takes allot of inner peace and self-esteem to be able to be a slave. Some of the most unhealthy Master/slave relationships are the ones in which the slave has no self-esteem, respect for themselves, or dignity in being what they are. Masters that belittle their slaves all the time and show no respect for another human being are simply put, Masters that do not have their own self-esteem intacted themselves and find it necessary to put down and keep down those around them. There can be a lot of psychological damage done to the slave in a situation like the one I just described. Damage that can spill over outside of the Master/slave relationship. Masters and slaves should each have pride in what they are and their ability to read each other enough to anticipate what the other is wanting and needing. They should each have Dignity in that they think nothing less of the other and that they deserve each other. And lastly, Respect of one another. Respect for the sacrifices that each make in order to have their right healthy Master/slave relationship. Without these, the relationship will not last and either the Master will get bored with the slave or slave will start to harbor resentments towards the Master to the point that neither is happy and will dissolve the relationship. I have known of healthy Master/slave relationships that have lasted for several years, 20 or 30 years to be exact. They all had one thing in common. Both Master and slave had pride, dignity, and respect for each other that turned into an everlasting love for one another. So it is possible and desired by most Masters and slaves. Well I have rattled on long enough. As usual if you have a comment or question about any of the entries, feel free to e-mail me at raven15@consolidated.net I look forward to hearing from you! Bye for now.

Sign On The Dotted Line.....Or Not

Hello Everyone. It hasn't been long since my last posting but something came up that I had to write about. Master/slave Contracts. It seems that they caused a bit of a stir in one of the chat rooms that I frequent. Some are for them and others are not. Some use them and require them before they will take on a Master or a slave. The one thing we can all agree upon is that they are not legally recognized in any civilized country. I say that because believe it or not slavery does still exist in some third world countries. So, if they are legally recognized it begs the question, why use them at all? Well just so that there is an understanding, the contract is only as valid as the extent participants give credence to them. However, it is my belief that they can be useful tools and enhance the Master/slave relationship. Let's face it, we have been taught to believe that we must honor contracts or there are consequences. Granted, there really is no consequence to not honoring a Master/slave contract since they aren't enforceable., but surely there would be bad feelings on the participants. Since we are taught to honor our contracts we make with people, it is a useful psychological tool for a Master to use. Psychological reinforcement is a strong measure that a Master can use for some control. Provided, of course, if the slave believes in honor and commitment. The same can be said for a Master. Either party can back out at any time. However, a contract can be a great tool in the negotiation of what is expected from both the Master and the slave. Things such as to what happens if something should, God forbid, happen to the other person. Will a slave work outside the home? What about assets that the slave has and is bringing into the relationship? What about inheritance, or if one should get seriously ill? How the money is handled as well as property? these are the things that can make a contract useful in the Master/slave relationship. There are however some documents that are legally binding. Especially if a slave gives a Master Power of Attorney. Then there are some legal responsibilities that must be adhered to. Whether or not you use one or require one is up to the individual Master. But I think that for some slaves it gives them a sense of comfort to know that everything is spelled out and nothing is going to happen to them that they don't already know is going to happen.I personally like to think that it is a good thing and will have one with my Master when the time comes for me to join him. Well that is all I am going to say about that. As usual if you want to leave a comment it is welcomed and if you want to get in touch with me my e-mail is raven15@consolidated.net Have a wonderful day!
