Responsibility in a Dom/sub, Master/slave situation is the subject of allot of talk among the leather community. There is allot to talk about it seems, and who is responsible for what? Well there are the obvious responsibilities in a Dom/sub, Master/slave relationship. The slave to serve and make the Master/Dom happy and give them the gift of control, domination, Love and gratitude for the gift they are getting. The Master/Dom gives the gift of a level of freedom to the slave by his domination, control, Love, and gratitude for service. These are both very psychological in Nature and what drives the Dom/sub, Master/slave relationship to work. But there is some question about how far does that responsibility go. To answer this, it depends on the situation of the relationship. Whether it is a 24/7 one or one where the slave will work outside of the home or not. The responsibility of a Master/Dom is greater in the 24/7 situation then in any other. In the 24/7 instance, the Dom/Master has to provide insurance, retirement, and a means should something happen to either the slave or Master unexpectedly. Arrangements of a demise or the release of the Master/slave and the conditions that will apply. The same applies to the working slave situation as far as a plan for the demise of either party or the release of the slave so that the slave or sub is left with nothing to work with to move on. In the working slave situation, it depends on the level of control agreed upon and level of comfort the Dom/Master has with managing the finances of the slave/sub. In this situation, the Master is to be a Mentor and guide about money. Helping the sub/slave save, spend wisely, and prepare for the future. The Master/Dom need not worry about insurance if the sub can get some through the employer. How ever if he does not, then he should help the sub pick a plan that best suites him and have him pay for it. There will be some that say that no matter what the money a slave earns goes to the Master and the sub will have no control over it. That can be dangerous if the level of trust and love has not been achieved between the Dom/Master and the sub/slave. Those are using situations and not the emotional and psychological connection that each is trying to achieve with the relationship.There are allot of schemers out there so a word of caution. The slave/sub must be sure of the arrangements when money, death, and release are discussed. Though they are painful and tough things to deal with they are necessary. The sub/slave in his 20's or 30's may not think about the future, when they will retire form the working world and be 24/7 in the lifetime enslavement. As always, don't enter into something until it has been discussed thoroughly. That being said, the ULTIMATE responsibility falls on the individual them self. We are responsible for ourselves. Therefore, whether a Dom/Master or a sub/slave, you need to know the possible out comes should things not work out, or should something happen to either the sub/slave or the Dom/Master.
I had a Master approach me and tell me that the same things that make a great marriage make a great Dom/sub, Master/slave relationship. The sacrifice of the personal pleasure and desire to make the other happy and love.Part of that sacrifice is to cherish, protect, and preserve the relationship at all reasonable costs. Fetishes and Kinks Continued
It seems that my last entry caused a bit of discussion. Both among Masters and slaves and between the two. To the Masters/Sirs that felt I had misspoken about Masters leaving the slave alone and should be with the slave when used for groups, i deeply apologize. I didn't mean to offend anyone. It seems that i forgot about a vital part of the social structure of the leather community. That being the bond between Masters and Sirs. I had a Master approach me and tell me about it. To Him i am deeply grateful for explaining and pointing out this mistake. He explained that it was a great honor to have a Master hand his slave over to another Master. That by doing that, when letting another borrow and use the property in group situations, it is establishing a trust among the Masters. After all, What kind of Master would return property that has been infected or broken to the owning Master? The leather community is considered "on the fringe" of normal society, knowing and being around people of the same mindset is a comforting and positive thing. The same can be said of other slaves that bond when meeting. It seems i should have put in a qualifier about the type of Master i was talking about. I was not talking about the responsible and caring Master that ENTRUSTS his slave to another when he is gone and not around. I was speaking about the kind that has been at leather events and clubs and ties up his slave and then walks off for everyone to use at random. the kind that wants to see their slave suffer immensely and not in a serving way but with maleficence and intentionally doing harm. That is the kind that I think ,in my opinion, should not be a Master. It is the kind of Master or SIR that a slave should be wary of. Now I am not talking about punishment and discipline. That is a horse of a different color. There are slaves and Masters that go to the extreme level as I mentioned in an earlier entry. That is perfectly fine and I fall into that category, just not to the the intensity of blood and damage. I am talking about Masters that obviously disregard the sanctity of life. It says allot about character when A Master regards a slave in this way.

Ouirks,Fetishes, and Kinks
I will try on this post to explore kinks and fetishes, To me they are the same thing, but others may argue different. When in a Master/slave relationship, hopefully for a lifetime, both must expect there to some of these things an integral part of the dynamics that makes the relationship work. As I have said before, i don't put limits on myself but few because in reality, the limits of a slave are set by the Master. After all, it is his wants and desires that are most important in the act of serving and being a real slave. Any absolutes that a slave OR a Master has, needs to be discussed before a slave submits or becomes the property of a Master. By absolutes, i mean anything that no matter what ,either the Master or the slave, will stop a session and and may be grounds for the relationship to end. Also for the Master, he should have the skill to know when he is pushing and expanding limits in training and not breaking absolutes and the spirit of the slave.I myself am open to all things but the following absolutes: Children(pedophiles should be terminated), Women (they make me sick), toilet( I am talking about shit eating!)ws is OK, Blood and cutting, and Permanent Marks unrelated to showing ownership. And of course, condoms, until or unless a recent neg testing is shown from within the last 5 days. Slaves should understand that fetishes and kinks , while expanding the horizons, they are a useful tool in the dynamic of the Master/slave relationship.
Groups- There has been allot of things said about groups and sharing of a slave. Some good and some bad. This is an area that should be discussed by the Master and slave before meeting. If a Master want to share his slave all the time or a slave wants to be shared all the time , then to me it says something about the relationship and the two parties. To me it means that neither the Master nor he slave is ready to commit and appreciate the gift of service and the gift of ownership. How ever, i have heard that some Masters use groups for training and or punishment. The theory being that when a slave is tied down and gang fucked it will show him his place and what he is as property. The punishment for not obeying as a hint of what could happen again if the slave does not correct his behavior. In the case of a Master joining a session it would be a case of training. I myself am not into the group thing as a whole, but can see a Master using it as punishment, status re-enforcement, or training. I have heard of Masters that will have a slave suck cock from several Masters and other slaves to teach them how to do it to their satisfaction and deep throat. If a Master is going to use his slave with others then he has an obligation to the slave to protect him from harm and his health. A slave can look at a Master's property when meeting and see how well it is treated and taken care of to get idea how he will be as property. The Master runs the risk of another doing something that will break the slaves spirit and forever be lost. Training and More
As i have been talking with otherslaves and Masters about training and the things that i said in my last entry, It seems that i need to talk about it at more length. I used the analogy of traing and breaking in a Thoroughbred with out breaking the spirit of the horse as being similair to traning a slave. It seems that among Masters and slaves it is a prevelant problem that needs discussion. As with horse training you want to break in a slave so that he knows his place and submits, but if you break the spirit of the slave then you destry the desire to submit and the NEED to serve. This can only lead to a detrimental result. Either the slave starts going through the motions and becomes unsatisfied and unfulfilled in his life. Or the slave will leave and not be in contact with his inner self and may never return to being a slave. When you break the spirit of a slave it also destroys the meaning of life to a slave, at least a natural born slave. then he bcomes lost and confused.
Among the Masters and slaves i have spoken to, it seems to be more of a problem for extreme Masters and extreme slaves. Many times, from what I understand, the breaking of the spirit is a problem in this group. Many times breaking the spirit not only destroys desire in a slave but trust and bonding with a Master.While being etreme has its place, it is the intesity of extreme that is important. Only an experienced and knowledgeable Master that can read a slaves inner soul be using this type of training. While estreme training is eduactional in the firest session, it lets the Master and the slave know each others limits and establishes trust and bonding, The lever of intesity should not be something that is used every time. Afterall, a Slave craves to expand thier limits and please his Master by doing so. Where is the slave left to go if a Master breaks those limits and goes so far as to break the spirit of the slave. Then is bcomes a master of submission by fear and loathing, than about submission out of love, honor, and need to serve and please another man. The high full-throttle level of extreme training used in the firt session can and should be revisited and used as a useful tool. It lets a slave know that the Master cares enough about them to let them know thier place and what is expected of them, and as mentioned, what the slaves limits are and the best way to expand them. However, i think, the full-throttel level should not be used in every session. I know that some Masters will disagree with this and that is fine but hear me out. I, as a slave, appreciate and love a Master that uses it as a form of punishment for in appropriate behavior. But when the level is used just to abuse the slave, then we have a whole other set of issues htat i am not going to go into. And Afterall, if the samelevel is used in every session then the slave, as well as the Master, will beocme bored and disenchanted with each other and seperate. So you see, it takes a great bit of skill to be a Master and a slave. Also in the case that I described, it is essential that the Master and slave match in the extreme level that is sought from the relationship. This is why the time period between the initial chat and the first meeting is important. Masters and slaves run into trouble when they think they are ready to meet after a few chats and no phone conversations and e-mails. you have to know the person you are getting involved with. THe BDSM MAster/slve relationship is also a lifestyle. Thus we all need to remeber there is a life in a lifestyle. It isn't a 24hf porn flick. The Master for me?!
Well i have said some things that relate to how I see things and will now attempt to say what it is that I NEED and WANT as a natural born submissive slave. I will disclose and expose my self and past in a way I have never really done.
First I have to say that while I am a very submissive and natural born slave, I am a very high spirited one. so my training and serving would be akin to the special way that you have to break in a Thoroughbred ( I was raised on a ranch). While breaking them in you have to balance that while not breaking the spirit of the horse. In that regard i try to balance my high spiritedness between being resistant enough for a Master to enjoy the dominance that He so richly Deserves and wants and being the submissive to make him proud. I suppose that is were the masochistic side of me lies. I NEED a very aggressive, demanding top Master to own me. one that isn't afraid to dominate me . It is that dominance that a natural born slave NEEDS and deeply desires in his soul. A MASTER that tells a natural born slave what to do and what he is and lazily goes through the motions of discipline and punishment with out praise and and true emotions is not what a slave needs or wants. One that gets in your face and tells you exactly what you are and what to do in the beginning of training is an essential part of my make up. As far as limits are concerned, i am of the belief that a slaves limits are determined by his Master with the exception of a few absolutes. My absolutes are children, women, scat, toilet(shit), blood and permanent harm or marks not associated with possession of ownership. Disclosing this masochistic side is something i would not have done until a few months ago. i enjoying working out and being something that my Master can be proud to own. I would hope that I have a Master that will let me continue to workout( if not forced for His pleasure) so that i could be the property of a proud Master. As a natural slave, i need to remind myself of my position and what I am to my Master. As for all the rest it is up to my Master. I, as a slave, Have no say so in that. he should be the no nonsense type that enjoys dominating by force if necessary i would like to find a mature Master over 40 that is a natural born Master and knows it. As far as working is concerned, i can work or not . Once again that is a decision left up to the Master. When i first go out I was on parole for awhile, which I knew would make it difficult to find a Master. there were the issues of transferring parole and all. so in many ways that left me feeling as if there wasn't a way to be what I was and no Master would want me. Thank God that is over! My career as an LCDC,Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, is so that any young gay or older gay men don't have to go through what I did to reach my inner self and like what I found there. It is something that plagues the gay community and not just the leather community. The past is something I cannot change and have accepted that. If a Master can only define a slave for their past and not their present, then perhaps he needs to take a look in his past and released what he is ashamed of.

Reflections and Real Question
As I said in my last blog, it can sometimes be hard to accept the way that you are and reconcile it with the true core of your being. The same can be said for Masters as well as slaves. Many Masters realize they have a need to control and own a slave, but they too experience the pressures and influences of the society at large. Once again, there is a feeling that being that way means that something is wrong with you and that you are evil and vile. Quite the contrary, there is nothing evil and vile about being a Master when you have made the connection with the right slave. After all, both parties are consensual adults and they are both getting what they need and desire. Being a Master comes with a great responsibility. You have another human being to take care of and hopefully open yourself and heart up to.I think some Masters are afraid of this, especially the opening of the heart part.Once again, for both Master and slave, there is a compartmentalization and emotional disconnect with the inner self during a "session". That way when the play is over neither one has to deal with the consequences of what it means to themselves to have this be apart of their inner being. They can then say, " That was great buddy." pat each other on the back and go about their merry way until they think about getting together again. This way it isn't real and they aren't the people that society looks at and judges. we have to remember that we are all human beings and sexual at that. We are more alike than different.It is the day to day living as a Master and slave and its implications that frightens and keeps many from living the life that they NEED, want and deserve to be the happiest they will ever be in life, a meaningful life and one with purpose.
Another thing that keeps many Masters and slaves from coming together and having a full life is another of Society's ill. Age discrimination! Our society has reinforced the idea that you have to young, sometimes extremely so, to be of any value. That goes both ways for a Master and a slave. I am amazed at how many slaves will miss the opportunity to have a Master because they are older than 35 or 40. That is when you know they are really out for just some hot sex and not really being a slave as a lifestyle and reality. many don't realize that the older Master has experience on his side as well as stability in who and what they are. They are no longer looking for a career, finding out where they want to live. and feel the restrictions (however unrealistically) that they HAVE to be a certain way. They are more comfortable with themselves and their inner core and soul. They have a wealth of knowledge to teach a slave about being a slave. many times I think that slaves don't want to have older Masters because they are afraid that if they do, they might actually develop feelings for them. And i suppose many times they feel they can't be in control from the bottom if they are with an older Master. Which means they do not know what being a slave is all about and it is a game to them. The same can be said for Masters. Many Masters miss out on potential slaves because they think that they are worth anything being older than 35 or 40. It amazes me when a Master or a slave turns down the opportunity to have everything they are looking for, but say no because the Master or slave isn't young. While being attractive is important, that is why I am working out, they problem arises when expectation exceeds reality. Both Masters and slaves are seeking young looking Colt models when they each are the cover man for Bridge Trolls Monthly! and that can be said for any age not just older men! I have seen some 20 something trolls before!! it is sad when a Master turns down a slave that has all the qualities that he seeks and the maturity to commit to those things because they are over 35 or forty, The same is true of the older slave that turns down what they want because the Master is older than they, or they think a much younger Master will be what they want. They are once again looking for the fantasy and not the reality of what it means to be a slave and a Master. The same can be said of a Master in that, they are looking for a young man thinking that they will be able to keep them when at the younger ages they are somewhat fickle and still finding themselves and who they are. they are somewhere in the back of the mind I think finding an excuse not to fully invest in the young slave cause of the fear or knowledge that they will suddenly leave. Want total ownership but never achieving it and blaming the slave when one has to look inside themselves to see who is really to blame for not having what they want.

Another thing that keeps many Masters and slaves from coming together and having a full life is another of Society's ill. Age discrimination! Our society has reinforced the idea that you have to young, sometimes extremely so, to be of any value. That goes both ways for a Master and a slave. I am amazed at how many slaves will miss the opportunity to have a Master because they are older than 35 or 40. That is when you know they are really out for just some hot sex and not really being a slave as a lifestyle and reality. many don't realize that the older Master has experience on his side as well as stability in who and what they are. They are no longer looking for a career, finding out where they want to live. and feel the restrictions (however unrealistically) that they HAVE to be a certain way. They are more comfortable with themselves and their inner core and soul.
