Through The Looking Glass.....And The Shattered Image

It seems there was some discussion in one of the leather chat rooms that I visit about if a sub is a real slave or not if he finds a Master that likes dto do to him what he likes done to him. Some say that that makes them a sub and not a real slave. But let's face it. You would not have gotten together if there was not some mutual ground. Whether you are a slave or a Master, we look for the people that can fullfill our desires, wants, and needs. One would hope that along the way there would be some love involved as well. As to whether they are real or not depends alot on how far you are into the M/s lifestyle. I mean, how real is it if the first time you chat with a Master they expect you to drop everything and move in with them. To me, that constitutes someone that is into the fantsy of it and will never really have the reality of what it means to be a Master. And any slave that does move in after the first chat, is also living in a fantsy. Becoming a slave is not something that you take lightly. It takes alot of self dicipline, and love of yourself to want to make a committment to another person. Once that committment is made, then it should be made whole heartedly and not half-assed so to speak. Some say that a real slave is one that will take whatever abuse that the Master doles out and do whatever a Master tells them to do. Well to a certain extent that is true, but not if it is something that is unhealthy, not in the best interest of the slave, or illegal. I mean afterall, would a Master let a slave do to them whatever the slave wanted to do to them? Slavery is afterall a form of expression. The expression of love, committment, and importantly trust. The trust that the Master will not do anything to permanently harm them and that He will do everything to guide him for the best thing that is right for him. This means taking care of the slave. Something which alot of Masters take lightly. The reality of being a Master is a huge responsibility. You have another human being that is looking at you for guidence and to take care of them, just as a Master is looking for the slave to take care of him as well. The subject of money, property, what the expectaion of what is to happen if either is ill or dies should be discussed well in advance of becoming Master and slave. They say that M/s relationships are only short term, but I think they can be long term if the chemistry is right. I have known of a Master and slave that have been together for 30yrs. Each loves the other for what they are and the gift of slavery they are experiencing as Master and slave. There are certainly different levels of reality in the lifestyle of Master and slave. The level that you are at depends on how far into it you are and the satifactory level of pleasure that you are getting. For some that means the extreme 24/7, in public and out of public. For others the simple act of role play in the bedroom is as far as they intend to go. That brings me to something that I have heard about and that is the underground slavery. Some say it is just a rumor and someone's fantasy of existence and others say they have seen it. This is where someone disappears and is kept secretly in bondage and never excapes. The evidence seems to lean toward that it is true and does exist. Afterall the incident of the man that kept a girl for 18yrs as his slave shows that it is possible. If, in fact, it does exist, they have done a good job of keepping it secret and hard to get into. So I guess all this is to say that Slavery and a Real slave or Real Master is all relevant to the people involved. What it means to each one and one another is between the Master and slave. One can only hope to find the Master or slave that believes in the same level of slavery that is desired.
